About sixty-five. On the morning of 27 March 2349, with every closet in the old works out of use and the waste run frozen under the block four corridor, he refused to use a bucket behind a costume rack in a vestibule bay, and gave Chief Ortiz two minutes about it — covering the screens, the sixty-five years he had been alive, and something that happened to him at the ward office in 2341 that nobody in the bay had ever heard. He is not written as difficult and the chapter does not resolve him. Ortiz lets him finish, offers what she actually has (a second screen at right angles and a person at the end of the bay, inside twenty minutes), and says out loud that it is not enough.
